In Untitled , Stijn Cole subtly manipulates the viewer to consciously position himself from perception in relation to the landscape being evoked. Against the back wall hangs a four-part panel with drawings of the same stretch of forest, each viewed from a different perspective. Opposite is a glass wall on which there is also a drawing, but because of the arrangement it remains invisible to the viewer. She is, as it were, excluded from the dynamics of the space. Only by mentally scaling into the space - conscious of his or her position - and re-entering it, can the viewer change this, but at the same time the perspective of the initial perception changes. Similarly, the white branch on the ground takes on another dimension, a replica of a specimen from the Bialowieza Primary Forest on the border between Poland and Belarus, a remnant of the vast lowland forests of Central Europe.
