A Second Opinion (2012)
10 PAINTINGS
Jean-Marie Bytebier selected ten paintings for his museum space. In these sketchy studies of nature, the linen canvas appears almost as prominently as the depiction itself, worked out in rough brushstrokes. Of the ten works, Bytebier ended up hanging only seven. The remaining three small paintings stand against the wall at the front left. That self-doubt and self-deprecation are also hidden in the title, with which Bytebier invites the viewer to take a second look.
