Lieven De Boeck
(Dendermonde,
1971 )
Lieven de Boeck makes observations on the public space that defines both our everyday reality and the context of any art practice. At the same time, he focuses on his all-encompassing project Dictionary of Space. In this dictionary, the artist elaborates concepts related to architectural themes such as occupation, appropriation, boundaries, territories, representation and identity. Dictionary of Space has developed in different contexts, ranging from magazine interjections, publications, performances and texts to drawings, models, installations and videos.
